MY 2023 ON CARS

2023 was a great year for me all round, but when it came to cars, it was absolutely amazing! I remember the year started off on a bad note, with Ken Block passing away barely 2 days into the new year and I was heartbroken. I wondered what else could go wrong, but asides Dodge announcing the end of the Challenger lineup, everything else went absolutely right.

Rest in Power Champ (Kenneth Block)

I moved to the clinic wing in Ogbomosho this year and to my utmost surprise, there were some crazy cars in that village. I remember spotting a grey Nissan 350Z and yellow Mitsubishi EVO in the school premises and I couldn't hide my joy that day. I am sure people around me were wondering if I was on something, because the grin on my face was so evident. I spotted a few power bikes around the Lautech area of town, but my favorite discovery was a black Infinity Q50.

Infinity Q50 (2015 - Present)

I remember that I was at the junction, waiting for the school bus on that faithful morning, when I heard the beautiful orchestra of pistons firing from afar. I looked towards the direction of the monstrous engine noises being made and all I could see were rounded day running lights approaching at about 120km/hr. Withing seconds, the car had gotten to where I was and off it went into the distance. At first I was convinced it was a V8 engine in that bonnet, I then did my research and realized it was a 3.0 liter V6 twin turbo engine! Either way, I was more than excited anytime I saw this car in town.

Lewis is Losing!

Since Sir Lewis Hamilton was robbed off his 8th World Championship in 2021, it seems the universe has been against him achieving that bench mark. I do not understand what is wrong with Hamilton's car and in fact Mercedes as a whole, because both Hamilton and George Russel have been performing terribly. In as much as I do not like Max Verstappen, I must give him his flowers because he has performed magnificently in the last two F1 seasons. The point gap between Verstappen and other drivers, shows that it is more than just luck, he has put in the work and deserves the win. Nevertheless, I still believe that my GOAT will clinch his 8th World Championship in due time.

Drifting

I have always liked seeing drift videos, but this year I got way more involved in understanding the what and how of drifting. I got to research on things like control arms for better wheel angles and all of those modifications made to enable cars drift better. I honestly feel like I can do a good drift at this point, all I need is a car and a prepped surface. I also got quite involved in off-roading, all thanks to a YouTube channel I discovered, called Matt's Off Road Recovery. In general, my knowledge on cars doubled this year, because of all the research I do before writing any episode and it was all worth it!

I want to say a big thank you to everyone who read, shared and subscribed to my blog this year. I will always reiterate that Turbonerdz is nothing without you all ❤️. Thank you for your continuous support and may God bless you. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Turbonerdz!!! ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿฅณ

What a way to end the year!
Funny how we underestimate some areas when it comes to whips resident there. I once saw a Chevrolet Camaro parked casually on the streets of Jega. You never can tell the extent Nigerians go to prove their love for cars
Turbonerdz sure knows his onions, consistently serving us the best content in the automobile industry both locally and internationally

7 is not enough! ๐Ÿ˜‚ A draw is not a win, until he is clearly one championship ahead of Schumacher, then I will be satisfied ๐Ÿ˜Œ Thank you for reading ๐Ÿซฑ๐Ÿผ‍๐Ÿซฒ๐Ÿพ
@K. D - A lot of Nigerians are serious gear heads, it’s the lack of funds to deters most of them. They end up just settling for Toyota’s or less cost maintenance brands. Thanks for reading my Chief ๐Ÿ™‡๐Ÿพ‍♂️
@Johnmokan - You lie ๐Ÿ˜‚ Max might be innocent but the F.I.A is not, they clearly orchestrated it all ๐Ÿ˜ค Thanks for reading anyway ๐Ÿ˜Œ
