What Happened to all the Shocks in Ogbomosho???

This episode is going to serve as a mini rant because the amount of abuse my gluteus maximus has received since getting to Ogbomosho is outrageous. From the motorcycles to the keke napeps and worst of all,  the ''Korope'' in the city of Ogbomosho all seem to have their shocks kidnapped from underneath them. I understand that quite a lot of my readers are my fellow medical students and I am very sure you all are trying to understand the relationship between a vehicle and the so called medical state called ''shock''? lol

Vehicle Shock Absorber

In medical terms, shock is defined as a state of cellular and tissue hypoxia due to either reduced oxygen delivery, increased oxygen consumption, inadequate oxygen utilization, or a combination of these processes. Wow, quite a lot words even for me, but Dr. Edwards, my anatomic pathology teacher would be very proud if I could say this in his class.
On the other hand, ''shocks'' mean a whole different thing in the automotive world. In automotive terms, your cars shocks and struts are responsible for keeping the vehicle's body suspended above the wheels and comfortably off the ground while driving.

Shocks in Good Condition

The complete name is actually shock absorber and a shock absorber is a part of the suspension system. It takes under control the vibrations caused by the wheel's up-down movement. All these many English is not necessary, all you need to know is that shocks are what makes a car ride comfortable. So when a vehicles shocks are bad, you expect the ride to be very bumpy and uncomfortable like in Ogmosho vehicles. Now, what makes a vehicles shock bad? The simple answer is lack of maintenance and bad roads.

Shocks in terrible condition like those in Ogbomosho vehicles

For those of us who have stayed in Ogbomosho for a while now, you would noticed that quite a lot of the roads are in terrible conditions. As a result of bad roads, these cars go through a lot and the effect is seen in the cars shocks or suspension, as they wear out.

Also, lack of maintenance by driving like a maniac, just like Ogbomosho transporters do can wear out a vehicles shocks and this causes occupants of the vehicle to feel every single bump on the road. In essence, if you want your vehicles shocks to last, you have to avoid driving like a mad man on bad roads. This will be all for today Turbonerdz, have a great week! ❤️

Thank you for reading and always remember to Turbo that engine!

Thank you Chief for this insightful and highly creative piece. Funny how a number of commuters ignore this and subject their passengers to torture, ‘cos they hardly feel the direct impact.
And it will also interest you to note that in purchasing shocks, you’ll meet different grades, types and names.
Kudos to a job well done 👍
