PURE BREED

When it comes to this car thing, I am an ashawo! I have fallen in love once again and this time around, it is an Italian Signora. I deliberately use the word 'signora', because we are already engaged. I decided to use her English name as the title of the blog post, so you wouldn't bite your tongue while trying to call out her Italian name. The name of this beautiful signora is Purosangue, meaning Pure Breed, Pure Blood or Thorough Bred. Quite the name for a car that deviates from the normal Ferrari machines, right?

The Ferrari Purosangue

A while back we had an episode about the SUV craze, how most super car companies like Lamborghini and Aston Martin are producing Sport Utility Vehicles (SUV's) in order to increase sales and make extra money for the production of hypercars and sport cars that we love. Ferrari was quiet at first but I guess they eventually succumbed to the peer pressure and have recently unveiled their own SUV, although Ferrari calls it an FUV meaning Ferrari Utility Vehicle. I am not a certified automotive journalist yet, so I have no business criticizing Ferrari. I am instead going to say things I love about the car.

1. LOOKS

The Ferrari Hatchback known as the Ferrari GTC4Lusso

I know that looks are not everything but my lady has them, just in case. The Purosangue is a beauty to behold from literally every angle. The curves and lines are just perfect. For an SUV, she is not a tall car, from certain angles she even looks like a sedan. Speaking of sedans, I know the gear heads in the house would have noticed that the Purosangue bears a striking resemblance to the Ferrari hatchback released back in 2011. A lot of people hated the looks of the hatchback but I did not see a problem with it. As they say, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

Profile of the Purosangue

Still on looks, the Purosangue has it all. The feature I love most about the Purosangue are it's suicide doors, like those of Rolce Royce and Bentley. The suicide doors fit so perfectly and they give the car a very elegant look. I am not going to post a picture of the interior because that is your assignment, go and check it out for yourself. The interior looks really good, it does not scream luxury, it rather has a sporty look. I think I have drooled over the Purosangue enough, let us move on...

2. POWER

The Pure Breed V12 Engine

The Purosangue is the perfect description of beauty and brains, because underneath all that nice body work is a freaking monster of an engine. I guess the V12 engine of the Purosangue is a big "F you" to anyone who dared to say she is not a thorough bred. Ferrari's are known for their naturally-aspirated V10's and V12's. Unlike other super companies who put turbo charged or supercharged V6's and V8's in their SUV's, Ferrari did not compromise at all. I mean what is more Ferrari than a V12 in an SUV? The engine makes 715 horsepower and 528 pound-feet of torque capable of sending the Purosangue to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds and having a top speed of 193 mph. These numbers are pretty good for an SUV.

3. PRICE

Ferrari Money for a Ferrari

Ferrari's do not come cheap and the Purosangue is not an exception. The 2024 Ferrari Purosangue will start at a jaw dropping $398,350. Compared to it's competition like the Lamborghini Urus and Aston Martin DBX that cost about $233,995 and $192,000 respectively, the Purosangue is once again in a class of it's own, price wise. For the looks, practicality, technology, V12 under the hood and a ferrari badge, I can say the Purosangue is worth the money. This car is definitely not for a civil servant, hence $400K is nothing to the millionaires of the World who will rush it like Snacked pastries in Benin City.

The Competition

I am personally a big fan of the Lamborghini Urus, my Turbo Nerdz know this but the question now is, if I have the chance to pick between the Urus and the Purosangue, all expenses paid by some rich Arabian Prince, which would I choose? No offence to the Lambo boys but I would go for the Purosangue. I don't know if she cast some spell on me, but she ticks every box. There is so much to know about the Purosangue, so feel free to do your own research. All I can say is that Ferrari finish work on their first attempt at an SUV.

A TRIBUTE

Mr Sheriff-Dean Yemi A.K.A Shafi

Today happens to be the birthday of a brother who passed on a few weeks ago and I am sure I speak for everyone when I say it has been overwhelming. I shared a room with Yemi at a point and he was the life of the party, always made the room lively. It is sad he left us so soon but in the short time he lived, he was a lover and a fighter. He impacted in so many lives and his name is forever written in the sands of time. Rest easy Champ, your legacy lives on! 🕊️

Thank you for reading and always remember to Turbo that engine!
